Sometimes referred to as Pinpoint Oxford fabric - Pinpoint is a woven material, usually 100% cotton and commonly used for dress shirting and bed linens. It is a two-for-one twist (80/2) in a Basketweave pattern, which is the same weave as Oxford Cloth - The difference between a Pinpoint fabric and an Oxford fabric is the weight and thickness of the yarns used. Pinpoint often uses smaller, lighter yards (typical of Broadcloth) and a higher thread count. Because of the fabric's slight shine, crisp and polished appearance + the fact that it is quite traditional, it can be both dressy and casual. Generally not a transparent fabric. Characterized by a subtle textured small dot or pin effect. Breaths quite well and because of its moderately heavy construction is fairly durable. Can be machine washed, but professionally dry cleaning is recommended to preserve a neat appearance
